I could not find the artist for this picture or the name or any details on it, but it really caught my attenion so I decided to post it on my blog for this week. What I found really interesting about this was all the money signs that were posted all over the picture especially on the planes, helicopters, and then the smoke from the bombs because then it got me really thinking about what world war was about. To me this pictures say that money is power, which is what all the countries involved in the world war were after, so i found it to be pretty interesting. What do you think?

Grant Wood
The reason that i choose this piece of art for my blog this week is because this is a very famous painting and i always wanted to know the meaning behind it. Then i did some research for it and i found out that there were many different opinions about it. Some would say it symbolized the hard working american couple back in this time period, some even said that it was too overrated of a painting. Personally i love it just because of the respect that the artist got just for painting it and also i love the way he gets so detailed on the painting getting down to the wrinkles on the guys hand and the lines on the wood part of the pitchfork. But overall i really liked this painting and i think that it has a lot of history and controversy behind it, but in the end that is what makes it special.

The reason that i picked this particular piece of art for my post this week was because i think that this is beautiful piece of work. And in the backgound you can clearly see 3 little girls working on it who might not be older than 3 or 4 yrs old. So the point that I am trying to get at is why is that these littles piece of work is not in a museum some where when you can find pictures as simple as little dots in famous museumsSunday, October 25, 2009
The reason I posted this picture is because first of all I really admire Raphael's work and I found this one interesting in particular because of the devil dog....what would cause him to paint such an animal? Especially making the horse a white horse with what seems like a angel floating in the back. It just boggles my mind about how he could come up with the courage to draw such a paintng in a time where Jesus was such a big figure.

The reason I picked this picture is because I just loved how peaceful the setting is and also how real it looks but then at the same time the reflection in the lake is what really caught my attention because it doesnt fully reflect whats happening on the top part and it seems so empty but yet so quiet and beautiful at the same time.

How to distinguish beauty from art...

Beauty Art
Now you may be wondering where I am going with this...and the answer to your question is i'm going where your mind wants to go. The picture on the left can represent both beauty and art and vica versa for the picture on the right, it is all in the eye of the beholder. So the point that I am trying to make is nothing is truly beautiful unless you think it is, and nothing is considered art unlsess the same goes for it. Because at the end of the day it just depends on what you think is beautiful art.
